Privacy Policy

The Egg is a friends-of-friends neighborhood marketplace operated by TODO — legal entity name, based in Austin, Texas. You can reach us at hello@theegg.community.

To operate The Egg, we collect:

• Account information — name, email, profile photo (optional), and the friend connections you establish.
• Posts and messages — content you publish and direct messages you send through the app.
• Approximate location — neighborhood-level only; we never store precise GPS coordinates server-side.
• Device and usage data — crash reports, performance metrics, and aggregate analytics needed to keep the app working.

• We don’t sell your personal information.
• We don’t show ads, and we don’t share your data with advertisers.
• We don’t expose your posts to anonymous web visitors. Shared links show only minimal preview data — see our Terms for details.

Account data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, posts, and messages within TODO — retention window days, except where retention is required to comply with the law.

You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or delete your account at any time from inside the app or by emailing privacy@theegg.community.

We’ll post material changes here and notify active users in the app. The date at the top of this page is updated whenever the policy changes substantively.
