Terms of Service

By using The Egg, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

You must be at least TODO — minimum age years old and have permission from a friend or trusted community member to receive an invite. Beta access is limited to specific neighborhoods.

You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at hello@theegg.community if you suspect unauthorized use.

You can post things you have, things you need, things you want to give away, and similar everyday neighborly exchanges. You may not post:

• Anything illegal, unsafe, or that violates anyone’s rights
• Hate speech, harassment, or threatening content
• Content you don’t have the right to share (copyrighted material, other people’s personal information)
• Items that require special licensing (firearms, prescription drugs, etc.)

We may remove posts that violate these rules and suspend repeat offenders.

The Egg helps you find each other. The actual trade — meeting up, handing over the item, accepting payment — happens between you and the other person. We’re not a party to those transactions and we don’t guarantee anything about them.

When you share a post via the in-app share sheet, we generate an unguessable link that shows a minimal preview to anyone with the link. The full post stays inside the app. You can revoke any share link from your post’s settings.

We’re still building. Features may change, get added, or be removed during beta. We’ll communicate substantive changes in the app.

The Egg is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent allowed by law, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or trades you make through it. TODO — replace this section with attorney-drafted limitation language.

These terms are governed by the laws of TODO — jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
